Radio New Zealand National...

...sounds like patronising branding bullshit.

Hold on, I'm already listening to you. You don't need to sell me on the "product" or create "brand awareness". Save the money on the marketing hack who came up with this nonsense and hire another reporter.

Totally agree. I thought for a moment I had gone on to the wrong network!

Yeah, but you could say that about almost any government department - and they often rebrand. In fact, RNZ's rebranding is comparably minor.

Besides - I quite like the "sounds like us" line... :)

My favourite is that "Radio New Zealand’s iconic bird calls will be heard more often on Radio New Zealand National and Radio New Zealand Concert". Fucking SUPER.

You have also taken to the whole non-political blogging thing well Michael. And today I see an expletive. Tomorrow we can have some nude Harry Potter like Tone Milne?

Also, I fail to understand how Radio NZ National and Radio NZ Concert is magically less confusing to the listener than simply National Radio and Concert Radio? Maybe I'm just a little thick.
